It's March, and you know what that means?!?! Our re-zoning meeting is fast approaching (March 11) and we're so anxious. We've put a lot of thought, time, and some money into this property, and we are just hoping it will all work out in the end.

We've written our speech that Jonathan will be presenting to hopefully ease the mind of those who have spoken up against our application to re-zone. It's good. I can't read through it without my eyes watering. He has a way with words and I'm just so incredibly proud of him and all his hard work to get us to this point.

I've been overwhelmed with fear and anxiety up to this point, but now I just feel a sense of calmness.

Even if this property doesn't work out, I have no doubt that we'll be able to find another, but I'm really pulling for this one. It's just so perfect for what we want to do.

Last week we had the opportunity to meet up with some families in the area. Everyone has been so helpful in answering questions, sharing advice, and encouraging us. It just feels like the kind of community we want to be a part of. We're so looking forward to having a place to host friends, neighbors, and family.

While we walked the property one more time, we were really trying to pay attention to all the details.

Taking note of the trees, the yucca, the cactus, the mysterious mounds with holes that we can't seem to figure out what kind of animal they belong to.

We're still trying to find the best place to park the Airstream (you know, if we end up with the land) but haven't quite decided the best place for it.

We're ready! Ready to work. Ready to make this place our home. Ready to create our own little oasis and to share the entire process with you.

Thank you for following along on our new adventure! We'll keep updated as things progress.
