Three Years In Our Tiny Shiny Home
Yesterday we celebrated living in this tiny home of our for three whole years! Three years! Is that even real? I remember pulling away from my parent’s driveway like it was just yesterday.
Six long months of renovating this Airstream into our off-grid, boondocking machine. And looking back at photos…I cannot believe how much the kids have changed in such a short amount of time. It makes me both sad and super happy to see the difference just three years makes. Look at how little they were!!
This tiny, shiny home has taken us on so many adventures. We never knew just how much this little home on wheels would change our family’s future. It’s brought us closer together (literally) as a family, and has given us the joy and freedom to call many places home. From beaches, to forests, to mountains and deserts. This Airstream has been the critical turning point for us as a family.
She’s been our shelter during the storms and a safe, comfortable place to rest and reset after our days' adventures. So much love and care has gone into this home. So many memories wrapped up in this hunk of aluminum.
If this home could talk, I think she’d say…thank you. “Thank you for fixing my broken pieces and making them beautiful. Thank you for giving me another chance to adventure and live this life of freedom.”
Without these last three years, we likely would have never been inspired to buy an off grid property. We probably would have given up on traveling without the ability to camp for free. We may have even settled back into a life in the city and became your suburban neighbor. But because of this Airstream, and because of our dream, we found who we are and where we want to be.
We are freedom seekers. We believe in the impossible. And we are a family who doesn’t give up on their dreams. Cheers to many more memory making moments in this tiny, shiny home of ours. And thank YOU for following along on our journey.
